- Spoons Like Little Dippers

Spoons Like Little Dippers

He holds spoons like Little Dippers
and feeds me the stars.

They collect like gemstones
shimmying down to my ankles

and if you pull my skin open
you could tug them out like strings of pearls.

If my eyes are two cut diamonds,
or my smile—a charm bracelet

it is because, in me,
he stores
everything precious and beautiful.
